Each therapist at North Counselling and Psychotherapy have different hours, some including evening and weekends. Please contact our office to learn more about specific hours for each therapist.
Counselling and Session fees at North Counselling and Psychotherapy vary based on service provided and the therapist. Please contact us to see our current fee range for services and the full range of services we provide.
All our therapists provide sessions both in person or via an encrypted, PHIPA and PIPEDA compliant online service. Please let your therapist know how you’d prefer to participate – we want to make your counselling experience as convenient to access as possible.
Possibly. Many insurance companies and benefits plans cover the services of Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists and Registered Psychotherapists. In order to determine if your counselling fees are eligible for reimbursement, please contact your insurance provider directly with your therapist’s credentials to inquire.
Many student benefits programs cover a limited amount of counselling fees. Please check your benefits booklet to determine the amount that you are eligible for and what types of services may be covered.
It can be hard to know where to start. At North Counselling, we have a number of different therapists that specialize in providing a wide range of interventions and treating various concerns. If you’re not sure who would be the best fit for you, contact our office and we will help to ensure you get connected to the therapist that would be the best fit for your needs.
We do not currently provide direct billing for the general public. We ask our clients to pay for the session following the session by E-transfer, credit or cash and provide receipts that can be submitted for reimbursement from your insurance company.
We do provide direct billing for select populations, including active members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and individuals with services provided through the Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP).
After contacting North Counselling and Psychotherapy, our Practice Assistant or one of our therapists will contact you either by phone or email to answer your questions or to arrange an initial session if you’d like. The initial session serves to give you an opportunity to discuss with your therapist some brief history, your goals for counselling, and to ensure that your therapist is a good fit for you. From there, you and your therapist will develop a plan to reach your goals, complete with how often you’d like to meet for therapy
