Dr. Melissa Coyne-Foresi

Ph.D., C.Psych.

Melissa has been a registered psychologist since 2021. Previously, Melissa was a registered social worker from 2014 to 2022. She holds both a Doctor of Philosophy degree and Master of Arts degree in School and Applied Child Psychology from Western University, and a Master of Education degree in Counselling from the University of Ottawa.

Melissa’s professional experience includes work with children in the school board setting and public-sector victim services work with individuals and families. Melissa uses evidence-based cognitive-behavioural and brief solution-focused approaches to counselling.

Melissa assists children to identify and build on their strengths and abilities to elevate their self-perception and confidence. However, children are part of a larger family unit and rely on their caregivers for support. Melissa emphasizes the role of relationships when working with children and emphasizes perspective-taking and collaborative problem-solving approaches to family conflict.
